When their agencies announced that singer IU and actor Lee Jong-suk were dating, the couple both sent a message to their fans wishing them a Happy New Year and thanked them for their support, thereby ending all the dating speculations.
When did the couple meet?
Although they first met ten years ago, at the South Korean music show, Inkigayo, the two had just been dating for the previous four months. The actor claimed that when he first met the singer, he was in his mid-20s, and that he had already developed genuine feelings for her. The pair may have even celebrated Christmas, at a resort in Nagoya, Japan.

She also added, “He is a reliable and cute person who has supported me for a long time, always told me I’m amazing, and sent me sincere encouragement. Since you have all found out now, we will date quietly and beautifully to not worry my fans!”
